Update your charging cables for travel!
I travel a decent amount, and I hate carrying a bunch of stuff. But I also like to stay prepared… which is a crappy paradox for me most of the time. I bring a cable and charger for everything, but hate bringing so much crap.
So… Amazon to the rescue. I bought these Griffin short USB cables for $15, and the Lenmar USB AC adapter for $17 (If you don’t care about the international connectors save $5 and get the Cosmos USB AC adapter instead). That’s about the cost of an Apple iPhone charger.
The Lenmar has 4 charging ports and puts out 2 Amps, so if you charge just your iPad it’s as fast as an iPad charger (which is 2A), and if you plug in an iPhone and an iPad it’ll be as though they are plugged into iPhone chargers, which are 1A each. If you plug in your iPhone, a 4G card and Mophie battery pack (like I do) they charge more slowly than with individual chargers but will fill up overnight. It’s perfect!
